Our client is an independent company that supplies and designs powertrain components (exhausts and other specialist automotive components) to OE automotive customers. Their reputation and expertise mean that many of the most prestigious manufacturers utilise their services. The company received the Queens Award for Enterprise in 2016 and has recently expanded to a new purpose‑designed production facility with a bulging order book.

The ROLE

Due to continued expansion, an opportunity has arisen for a skilled MIG welder to become an integral part of our client's production team. Duties will include:

  • Welding activities to a good standard using MIG welding on common welded joints.
  • Fabricating parts from drawings.
  • Preparing parts for welding (sawing, pillar drilling, grinding, pipe bending, pipe threading, weld preparation).
The CANDIDATE

The right candidate will possess:

  • Experience within a similar environment.
  • Skill in MIG welding.
  • Mechanical engineering background.
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings.
  • The desire and ability to contribute to the team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: £25,740 - £31,434 per annum, equivalent to £13.20 - £16.12 per hour plus overtime.
