Job description

We are looking for a Production Team Leader to work on a permanent basis for a large engineering company based in St Helens.

The salary is c£35-37,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, company bonus, pension, healthcare etc.

The shift pattern is Monday to Friday on 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm.

The Production Team Leader is responsible for coordinating daily manufacturing activities, guiding production staff, and ensuring that output, safety, and quality standards are consistently achieved. The role involves monitoring workflow, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining strong team performance across the shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Coordination Oversee day-to-day production operations to ensure targets for safety, quality, and efficiency are met.
  • Production Coordination Plan and organise shift activities, adjusting resources and tasks to maintain smooth workflow and meet production requirements.
  • Production Coordination Monitor work-in-progress levels and respond to bottlenecks or delays promptly.
  • Performance Management Track team performance and productivity, investigate causes of underperformance, and elevate concerns where needed.
  • Performance Management Maintain up-to-date production boards, KPIs, and related documentation.
  • Performance Management Uphold workplace discipline, attendance, and safety standards, escalating issues to senior management as appropriate.
