Overview

Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our market leading manufacturing client with their search for a Production Team Leader.

Overall Purpose: The Team Leader is responsible for managing the shift in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the key performance indicators (KPIs) targets - OEE/Scrap/OTIF/Quality standards /Throughput and productivity. To provide management and leadership to enable team members to achieve their individual targets.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the production management team on agreed objectives with other team leaders and the Production manager.
  • Provide daily guidance and enforce the safety policies, procedures and guidelines as set out by the Company.
  • Liaise with toolroom staff to ensure correct tooling is available.
  • Ensure informative handover is effectively communicated to succeeding team leader. Ensure teams channel is updated with shift information.
  • Ensure production KPI targets are understood and achieved.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in area and plant in line with 5S principles.
  • Utilise labour, equipment, plant and materials in the most effective manner.
  • Prioritise work through production processes in conjunction with production plan.
  • Opening & shutting plant down - Ensure start up procedures are followed.
  • Ensure high standard of goods produced in line with product specification and quality standards
  • Ensure relevant production information is entered via SAP.
  • Operate machines adjusting processes to optimise quality.
  • Involvement in specific projects where required.
  • Implement, in conjunction with quality dept improved quality initiatives.
  • Assist in training and development of staff.
Qualifications
  • Exposure to a manufacturing environment.
  • Ideally hold a Team Leading Qualification/NVQ.
  • Team Leading Experience.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
  • Knowledge of ERP system.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Package
  • £32,907.32 per annum.
  • 3 shift pattern: 6AM-2PM, 2PM-10PM & 10PM-6AM on rotation. 40 hrs per week.
