Job summary

Job Overview

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees engaged in various areas of the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure your team is motivated, capable, well trained and efficient to achieve targets and high standards.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping related to staff, monitoring of health and safety through PPE checks, hazard awareness and monitoring best practice.
  • Monitor quality and efficiency standards, rectifying issues where possible and notifying Line Manager of any escalations.
  • Monitor stock levels, material supply and material utilisation using SAP system, if required.
  • Inspect all areas of work daily, identify any areas requiring specific attention and act accordingly.
  • Lead the team by example, ensuring all team members follow correct PPE and food safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a unionised and/or food manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience supervising a team of up to 40 employees.
  • Experience working with SAP or similar systems.
  • Strong knowledge of KPIs, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Quality, HACCP, Waste Rate and Run Rates.
  • Sound knowledge in OH&S systems.
  • Excellent leadership, change management, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts – typically 2 weeks days and 2 weeks afternoons.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of the organisation and the leadership team.
