Production Planner
Client: BAE Systems
Hourly Rate: £29.40 PAYE or £39.51 UMBRELLA
Location: Portsmouth, UK
Contract Duration: 12 months (with opportunity to be extended)
Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours/week (full-time onsite)

About the Role
BAE Systems are seeking a Production Planner to join the Maritime Services unit, focusing on warship support. You’ll play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and ensuring efficient production processes for ship repair and support projects. You’ll collaborate closely with supply chain teams, production trades, and subcontractors, converting customer requirements into production-ready tasks and delivering them to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Break down customer requirements into task lists, identify dependencies, and develop detailed schedules.
  • Identify necessary materials, sub-contracts, and services, and liaise with the supply chain to validate costs and ensure scope coverage.
  • Calculate required work hours per task and verify readiness for each production stage.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of cost-estimating and job libraries to improve planning accuracy.
  • Monitor, measure, and promote improvements in planning output.

Key Skills
  • Production Planning experience
  • Good knowledge of Commercial platforms and systems - Royal Navy or MOD system experience desirable
  • Ideally hold a relevant technical qualification at ONC/HNC level
