About the role

Our Guinness packaging facilities in Runcorn produces canned,bottledand kegged product for Ireland, UK and exportmarkets. It is an 18 Acre sitewith2 Bottling, 2 Canning lines and 1 Kegging production line. There are 100+ SKUs with 16 different Beer/Liquid types covering producing on average 24 million cases of product per annum servicing 51 markets.

As Production Operator within our packaging team in Runcorn,you’llplay a pivotal role in ensuring that operations are carried out to the highest standard and in adherence to Diageo's health and safety, environmental and food safety standards,

Key responsibilities:
  • Performing operational tasks, support continuous improvement, and apply autonomous maintenance and quality skills.
  • Operatingbottling line machinery following standard operating procedures.
  • Reduce setup times and perform autonomous maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, and resolving issues.
  • Conducting effective shift handovers.
To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone who:
  • Can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems.
  • Holds strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to communicate with all levels across the site.
  • Has ambition and aim to support Team Leaders and possibly aspire to become a Team Leader of the future.
  • Able to push forward your own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities. With a strive to make a positive difference to manufacturing excellence and show your excellent communication skills.

Shifts

This role involves working a 42-hour week on a continental day/night shift pattern, which includes two weekend shifts per month. You’ll be contracted to a suite of flexible shift patterns and your working hours will adjust according to the pattern you’re assigned.

Depending on business needs, you may work either:

12-hour shifts on a 24/7 rotation, or

8-hour shifts on a 24/5 three-shift rotation.
