Job summary

Competitive hourly rates of £12.50 for day shifts and £15 for night shifts are offered, with a rotational shift pattern.

Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Minimum qualification of NVQ/BTEC or equivalent in a technical or scientific discipline.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with experience following SOPs.
  • Comfortable working with tools and performing assembly/disassembly tasks.
  • Capable of manual handling within HSE limits.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks while wearing respiratory protection.
  • Flexible to work shifts and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate pilot plant equipment with training provided.
  • Assemble and disassemble plant equipment for maintenance.
  • Monitor production processes and diagnose faults.
  • Handle and prepare raw materials to required standards.
  • Maintain high quality standards throughout production.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Participate as a member of the site Emergency Response Team.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.

We invite applications from recent graduates in engineering, science, or related disciplines seeking valuable industry experience, as well as individuals with operational expertise in chemical, pharmaceutical, or related sectors.

Position Details:
  • Position: Temporary Scientific Production Operative
  • Contract Duration: 6 months
  • Location: Didcot, Milton Park
  • Pay rates: Day shift: £12.50/hour, Night shift: £15.00/hour
  • Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts following a 4-day shift, 4 days off, 4-night shift schedule
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate pilot plant equipment (training provided)
  • Assemble and disassemble plant equipment for maintenance and troubleshooting (training provided)
  • Monitor production processes and diagnose faults
  • Handle and prepare raw materials and products to required standards
  • Maintain high quality standards throughout production
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and promote a safety-first culture
  • Participate as a member of the site Emergency Response Team
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
Candidate Requirements:
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Minimum qualification of NVQ/BTEC or equivalent in a technical or scientific discipline
  • Exceptional attention to detail with experience following SOPs
  • Comfortable working with tools and performing assembly/disassembly tasks
  • Capable of manual handling within HSE limits: 25kg (men), 16kg (women)
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks while wearing respiratory protection
  • Flexible to work shifts and overtime as required (with agreement)
