THE EMPLOYER IS: THE GALLERY FISH AND CHIP SHOP LTD We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Production Operative to join our production team. The successful candidate will support daily operations by carrying out a range of tasks including cleaning, packing, labelling, food production, and other duties as requested by management. This role involves working in a chilled production environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and quality. Working Conditions: - Food production / manufacturing environment - Chilled working conditions - Standing for long periods and manual handling may be required - Shift work may be required, evenings and weekends

Responsibilities
  • Carry out cleaning duties to maintain a safe, hygienic, and organised work environment.
  • Pack finished products accurately and efficiently according to company standards.
  • Label products correctly, ensuring compliance with quality and traceability requirements.
  • Assist in food production processes in line with hygiene, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Work effectively in a chilled environment as required by production processes.
  • Follow all health & safety, food safety, and company policies at all times.
  • Operate basic production equipment as required (training provided).
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Production Manager or Supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Willingness to carry out a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment, including chilled conditions.
  • Awareness of food hygiene and safety standards (training provided).
  • Previous production or food manufacturing experience is an advantage but not essential.
