Job description

Overview

KPI Recruiting are looking for production operatives to work for one of our clients based near Edinburgh airport; these positions are temp to perm opportunities after your 12 week probation is complete.

Shift pattern, hours and pay

This is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern with 1 week being dayshift and 1 week being nightshift, so must be able to do alternative shifts each week.

Hours of work are 07:00am-19:00 and 19:00-07:00

These are 4 x 12 hour shifts

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Carry out the production of compound animal feed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures to maximise throughput and feed quality and delivery of KPI’s. Operate heavy duty machinery, ensuring compliance with quality control and Health and Safety procedures at all times.
• Ensure feed is made and handled in a way that all food safety standards and requirements are adhered to, maintaining standards of good practice to minimise any food safety risk to both the birds consuming the feed and the end consumer.
• Conduct daily stock takes and completion of statutory records and production sheets, proactively seeking solutions where abnormalities occur to prevent a negative impact on production and quality standards.
• Liaise with the Engineering department to address breakdowns or interruptions to production to minimise downtime. Conduct basic level routine maintenance and assist the engineering team where possible.
• Ensure environment is safe and clean. Enable KPI’s for hygiene to be met to prevent a negative impact on quality standards.
• Assist in maintaining audit standards and ensure corrective processes are in place to address non-conformances.
• Liaise with other operational areas to ensure the efficient flow of information so all internal and external customer requirements are met.
• Drive continuous improvement, proactively reviewing current methodology and opportunities to improve the site’s efficiency, safety, quality and performance. Manage and maintain all sites waste to the correct environmental agency standards.
• Undertake any reasonable task related to the operation of the mill as required and as directed by the mill management team.
