Job description

A leading FMCG manufacturer in Ballymena is seeking a proactive and adaptable Production Operative to join its production team. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in maintaining smooth, efficient, and high‑quality production operations. Working closely with the Production Shift Manager, you will support machine operation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis while contributing to continuous improvement across production lines.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer in operational duties including breakdowns, machine cover, and problem‑solving.
  • Assist with planned maintenance, machine setup, and production changeovers.
  • Operate machinery during absences or peak production periods, maintaining efficiency and quality.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve routine equipment issues promptly to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for quality checks, maintenance, and operational performance.
  • Promote and uphold high standards of health, safety, hygiene, and housekeeping.
  • Monitor and minimise product and material waste.
  • Participate in training and cross‑skilling activities to develop technical competency.
  • Foster positive communication and teamwork across the production floor.
