Job description
Role Profile

Our client is a growing privately‑owned business, who have recently invested over £2 million into new production equipment and facilities to scale with growth. As Production Manager you will be responsible for daily production volumes while ensuring the highest level of health and safety compliance. Successfully managing two Production Shift Managers and a wider team of 18 to ensure smooth running of production, reporting into the Head of Operations with data‑driven solutions and production forecasts. The role is Monday to Friday day shift, with flexibility required to meet production demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily production volumes - driving performance and ensuring product quality standards are maintained.
  • Manage and optimise production machinery to reduce downtime and maximise throughput.
  • Lead a team of production staff to the highest of standards in efficiency, compliance and throughput.
  • Closely collaborate with the Quality and Warehouse Managers to ensure production targets are achieved.
  • Act as a resilient and decisive leader, effectively handling daily production challenges.
  • Making effective commercial decisions under pressure.
  • Review, manage and embed effective standard operations procedures.
  • Prepare regular production reports and updates.
  • Always ensure stringent SHEQ compliance across all aspects of production.

  • Extensive experience in food / pharmaceutical production management.
  • Background in high‑volume production environments.
  • Compliance‑focused leader, with ability to drive strict adherence to processes and regulations.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills - highly proficient with MS Excel.
  • Proven experience of problem identification and solving.
  • An assertive and collaborative leader.
  • Strong understanding of BRC compliance and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
