What is a Production Manager role at Prinova

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations to ensure that output meets the highest standards of quality efficiency and timeliness. This role involves managing daily production activities across all shifts coordinating resources and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

What to expect
  • Ensure adherence to plan is aligned with Operational KPIs
  • Maintain and publish production KPIs
  • Align wirth planning team on demonstrated capacity (aligned to KPIs)
  • Ensure and drive continuous improvement in Factory floor working practices keeping in mind Quality Safety Service Cost Morale.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to Production Supervisors to support their professional growth and foster stronger collaboration and continuity across shifts
  • Support and encourage Supervisor and Team Leaders to develop process improvements
  • Commitment to delivering production requirements and performance targets
  • Continuously analyse processes develop and present cost beneficial improvements to Senior Management.
  • Identify oversee support and meet training requirements for production
  • Collaborate with fellow Production Manager to develop meaningful and actionable KPIs that enhance performance and inspire employee engagement.
  • Oversee the employee appraisal process for the department- support Supervisors to deliver effective performance appraisals
  • Control & direct production activity
  • Control & direct planning activity in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager
  • Monitor & Maintain Overtime spend
  • Monitor & Maintain temporary labor spend- identify labor needs in line with Production plan
  • Responsible for the closure of production NCs
  • Identify RCA of batch failures and implement corrective action
  • Attendance & providing production updates at Management meetings
  • Maintain capacity model to map results and aid forecasting.
  • Aid in the regular updating of routings for new products.
  • Delivery of production targets
  • Manage and drive continuous improvement project for Production
  • Interviewing and Recruitment for vacancies
  • Address performance / conduct issues with the support of the HR team
  • Participation in visits / audits where needed
  • Reporting up to General Manager on any relevant and critical issues
  • Working with other departments to improve processes and problem solve
  • Involvement in HR matters where needed
  • Budget control (maintain monitor sign offs trackers)
Does this sound like you
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a supervisor or managerial position within the Food Manufacturing industry
  • Proven Project management experience
  • Experience in designing operational / departmental KPIs to drive performance
  • Previous experience in performance management / disciplinary procedure.
  • A strong understanding of food manufacturing quality standards
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety standards within a Factory environment
  • Proficient in the use of ERP systems
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office packages
  • Team Player who shows tenacity creativitiy and drives for excellenct results
  • Personable and able to build positive working relationships with people at all levels
  • Self-starter- able to prioritise workload and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
