A high-volume advanced manufacturer in Greater London is seeking a Production Engineer. This role entails hands-on responsibilities in designing and developing tooling schemes, troubleshooting production issues, and managing new machine introductions. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least three years of experience. SG Technologies is a high-volume advanced manufacturer of precise electromagnetic components and subassemblies. We are embarking on many new projects in areas such as vehicle electrification and advanced electrical motors, all for well recognised global customers.
We are looking for a Production Engineer to undertake an exciting hands on production engineering role to support production and new product development introduction. This role will provide the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and offers opportunities for career progression.
Design & develop new tooling schemes for the specific details of the parts being produced.
Produce prototypes including limited production of parts.
Engineering responsibility for press tooling.
Trouble shoot production issues on existing equipment.
Work on production improvements.
Participate in design reviews for new and current products.
Write specifications for new equipment for the new products we are developing.
Project manage the introduction of new machines and critically to be able to run and train others on the new machines / processes.
Present solutions and ideas to the wider team (manufacturing, Engineering, quality).
Develop a strong working understanding of the following areas:
Develop a working understanding of automotive APQP.
The critical outputs of the role must be systemised in drawings, work instructions, FMEAs and control plans.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or apprenticeship route.
Ideally have 3 years experience in a similar role.
Hands‑on mechanical and electrical workshop skills.
Must be a good communicator and be self‑motivated.
Must be driven and persistent to achieve demanding targets.
37.5 hours.
Monday to Thursday 8 : 30am - 17 : 00pm.
30am - 14 : 30pm.
