About the role:

Muzungu Sisters is looking for a Production Coordinator to manage the end-to-end production process across all categories.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ experience in a production role within the fashion industry. You will have to be a hands-on person that is highly driven and self-motivated, with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

This position is based in Notting Hill, London.

Muzungu Sisters shines a light on the under-exposed work of the artisans responsible for their collection, by commissioning items produced using thousand-year old weaving and embroidery techniques. By working solely with fair trade cooperatives, non-profit foundations, family-owned workshops and sole artisans, Muzungu Sisters is able to maintain a close relationship with every producer and ensure that the entire production process is transparent.

Key responsibilities:

  • End to end responsibility and management of product; from design handover at sampling stage to full production run
  • Identify and manage critical path for sampling and production, ensuring all production milestones are met
  • Collating all wholesale and Muzungu Sisters E-comm orders, finalising units, ordering fabric and launching full production run according to critical path
  • Manage relationships with artisans and manufacturers to ensure timely and ethical production of goods. To include regular and consistent daily liaising with producers
  • Tech packs - management of external consultants (QC, Pattern cutter, tailor) and ensuring consistency across all product
  • Working with manufacturers to determine cost pricing and censure margins and price points for wholesale and retail
  • Sourcing and approvals of: Fabric, lab dips, Strikeoffs, trims, SMS/TOP samples
  • Organise, manage & roll out all comments of fittings (Proto, SMS, TOP)
  • Sustainability and ethical production; ensure compliance with industry regulations, labour laws, and sustainable practices
  • Management of stock count and QC checks
  • First point of call for all bespoke / one off projects for VIP clients
  • Shipment management (including duties) for sampling & production
  • Work with finance to manage timely production payments

To apply for the role, you will need to have the following skills:

  • Must have at least 4 years of experience in fashion production coordination
  • Experience working with international factories, preferably in India
  • Strong knowledge of garment costing, sourcing strategies, and supplier management
  • Commercially-minded and able to identify KPIs for product planning and merchandising
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to contribute to the brand
  • Comfortable stepping outside regular duties as needed
  • Be extremely neat and organised
  • Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel and Zedonk
