Product Manager

Estates and Facilities | Drive Digital Transformation at a World-Class Institute (Oxford)

We're looking for an experienced, delivery-focused Product Manager to own and transform the digital systems powering our world‑class Estates and Facilities. If you have a passion for operational excellence, large‑scale system implementation, and using technology to enhance sustainability, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.

The Role

Product Manager – Estates and Facilities. You will be the strategic owner and delivery lead for a critical portfolio of platforms that underpin our new research facility's operations. Reporting to the Head of Application Integration Services, you will bridge the gap between Estates, IT, and external partners to deliver enterprise‑grade solutions.

What You'll Own: Key Platforms & Responsibilities

You will take ownership of the full product lifecycle for systems critical to the Institute's physical environment and operations, including:

  • Core Systems: Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Energy Management System (EMS), and Building Management System (BMS).
  • Enterprise Integration: Overseeing integration with Oracle‑based systems and platforms supporting Warehouse and Logistics operations.
  • Strategic Leadership: Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with the Institute's sustainability and operational excellence goals.
  • Requirements & Ownership: Lead discovery, define detailed business and functional requirements, and manage the product backlog from concept to continuous improvement.
  • Implementation & Delivery: Coordinate large‑scale system implementation projects, manage dependencies, and ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and adopted by users.
  • Vendor Management: Act as the primary product lead for Systems Integrator (SI) and vendor relationships, ensuring quality and alignment with the product vision.
What You'll Bring: Essential Experience
  • Proven Product Management experience (Product Manager, Product Owner, or Business Analyst) specifically leading digital product delivery within Estates, Facilities, or asset‑heavy environments.
  • Strong track record of defining detailed business and technical requirements and translating them into actionable delivery plans.
  • Strong understanding of core Estates & Facilities Management processes (maintenance, energy, logistics).
  • Experience with Oracle systems (e.g., Oracle Cloud, ERP, or EAM modules) and integrating them with operational technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Systems Integrator (SI) partners and multi‑supplier delivery environments.
  • Proven success delivering large‑scale system implementations or digital transformations.
Desirable Skills
  • Hands‑on experience with specific CMMS, EMS, or BMS platforms (e.g., Oracle product suite, EMaint, Aconex or similar).
  • Familiarity with estates data architecture, IoT, and energy optimisation solutions.
  • Background in public sector, healthcare, education, or corporate estates.
Why Join the Institute?

You'll be joining an organisation committed to collaboration, trust, and innovation. This role is a unique opportunity to shape the digital backbone of a pioneering research facility that is purpose‑built to tackle humanity's most enduring challenges.
