Job description
A bit about us...

Please allow us to celebrate our own success for a moment... We've built a customer-centric product that is market-leading, and we are smashing it!

We're a multi-award-winning digital payments and insight platform within the automotive industry. We work with over 5,000 automotive retailers, helping drivers to pay for motoring costs, accessories, and other services through a variety of different payment options. Our purpose is to build a solution that gives drivers peace of mind while enhancing customer experience and assisting with dealer profitability.

Bumper is a fast-growing payments scale-up and we’re excited to continue building on our growth having completed a successful Series B funding round in 2024. We’re looking to hire a dynamic and passionate Product Manager.

Our Head Office is in Sheffield City Centre, with offices also based in London and Turkey. We've also expanded further, bringing retailers in Ireland, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands on board, with the vision of being the leading automotive payment and insights platform!

A bit about the role...

We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our dynamic Product team and take ownership of Bumper’s core platform and infrastructure. This is a pivotal role where you’ll shape the vision, strategy, and development of the technology that powers our products and services, including payments capabilities and integrations with key partners.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams – engineering, compliance, and commercial – to translate user needs, regulatory requirements, and technical priorities into actionable product plans. If you thrive on solving complex challenges, enabling scalability and reliability, and driving innovation in fintech, this role offers the perfect opportunity to make a real impact.

Reporting into the Head of Product, this is a full-time hybrid role, with 3 days a week based at either our Sheffield or London (Hammermith) office. As the majority of our engineering team are based in Turkey, this role will require you to travel there once or twice a year for collaborative working, team building, and events.

Day-to-day responsibilities:
  • Define, shape and lead product vision and roadmap, using research and user insights to drive strategy and opportunities, aligning with Bumper’s strategic goals
  • Translate user needs and market insights into clear, actionable product plans
  • Lead product development from ideation to launch, creating clear requirements and prioritising user-focused features
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and commercial teams to deliver impactful features
  • Track KPIs, analyse data and feedback, and run tests to drive product improvements
  • Analyse product usage data and user feedback to continuously improve the experience
  • Champion a user‑centric and scalability mindset and foster a collaborative, innovative team culture
  • Support go‑to‑market planning and product launches in collaboration with commercial teams
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor offerings to inform product strategy
Now a bit about you…

Our Product team is passionate, professional and enthusiastic, and we’re looking to welcome a Product Manager with a shared interest in Bumper's scale‑up journey, helping us to be the leading payments and insights platform!

If you’re an experienced Product Manager who thrives on building strong relationships, delivering insights, and driving product innovation, we’d love to hear from you!

Our ideal candidate has experience with…
  • Leading end-to-end product development from ideation to launch
  • Defining and executing product strategy and roadmaps
  • Translating user needs, compliance requirements, and technical priorities into actionable product plans
  • Driving the development and launch of digital products or scalable platform infrastructures
  • Collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
  • Using project management tools and methodologies to manage timelines and deliverables
  • Applying an analytical mindset to interpret data, KPIs, and insights for informed product decisions
  • Communicating clearly and confidently with stakeholders at all levels
  • Understanding technological trends, regulations, and customer needs in the UK market
Nice to haves...
  • Exposure to a scale‑up or start‑up environment
  • Payments experience
  • Certifications or qualifications in product management
  • Familiarity with UX principles and user‑centric design
  • Experience conducting A/B testing and user interviews
What you'll get from us...
  • Competitive Salary
  • Company Bonus Scheme
  • Healthcare: Private healthcare with Vitality, and Medicash health cash plan
  • Time Off: 26 days holiday + bank holidays, plus volunteer days
  • Flexible Benefits:
    • Salary sacrifice pension with Aviva
    • Cycle to Work Scheme
    • Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice scheme with Octopus
    • Salary Sacrifice Childcare
    • Wellbeing allowance of £250 per year
  • Work‑Life Balance: Flexible working policy
  • Annual Company Retreat: a few days of fun, collaboration, and mingling (make sure your passport’s in date!)
  • Parental Leave: 4 months paid leave for primary carers and 1 month for secondary carers

Perks are nice, but we know perks don’t make up the whole package of a great job. By joining our Bumper team, you'll have the opportunity to be an ambassador for our product & brand, and help us to continue on our winning streak!
