About the Role

Senior Procurement Manager – New Product Development. Based in Birmingham (hybrid). Salary up to £50,000 plus £6,000 car allowance, benefits and training & progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate and take ownership of new product development procurement activities from early‑stage identification of market requirements through to product launch.
  • Complete components planning and procurement (dock to stock), ensure suppliers on board, meet delivery and cost targets, and deliver successful product planning hand‑off to Commodity Managers and Buyer‑planners.
  • Collaborate and foster excellent relationships between suppliers, Engineering and Supply‑Chain teams to support delivery of world‑class products and services.
  • Represent Procurement in the cross‑functional project team to deliver the new product on time and on cost.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on project status, including cost and on‑time delivery.
  • Interface with recent acquisitions to develop and implement Global Procurement best practices for product development innovation and VAVE.
  • Develop and manage the prototype supply base and end‑of‑life supply.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (technical background desirable).
  • 4+ years of professional procurement experience (consider Supply Chain, Operations or Project Management, ideally with a global outlook).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Lean Manufacturing certifications desirable.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% (may exceed) across Europe, US and parts of Asia or South America.
