Procurement Manager - Indirects

Based in Manchester

Your new role:
The Procurement Manager oversees the sourcing, negotiation, and delivery of contracts in line with company policies and strategic objectives. They ensure goods and services are procured on optimal terms while maintaining compliance with statutory, corporate, and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the procurement and ongoing management of supply chain contracts, working closely with internal stakeholders to define requirements for new, renewed, or re-tendered agreements.
  • Evaluate and challenge contract specifications to ensure they are fit for purpose, drawing on best practice and lessons learned to maximise value and service quality.
  • Manage procurement activity across engineering and other categories, identifying opportunities for supplier-driven innovation, cost savings, and improved performance.
  • Prepare and oversee end-to-end procurement documentation and processes from Expressions of Interest to final contract award ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in procurement within a public sector environment, with a strong understanding of PCR-2015 and or PA23 regulations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in indirect procurement, with the ability to manage complex categories and deliver value across a range of goods and services.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a track record of building effective relationships across all levels of an organisation.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
