To sustain and underpin growth, they have invested over £35 million in a brand new, 5-acre warehouse and state of the art manufacturing site in Burntwood, Staffordshire.

Job Description

  • Manage, lead and motivate your team to achieve department performance against agreed key performance indicators, recognising success, and encouraging collaborative cross team working
  • Lead from the front, setting individual and team SMART objectives, carrying out regular one to one meetings, and maintain a positive and open culture across the team
  • Manage, lead and deliver a diverse range of procurement projects
  • Implement consistent reporting to facilitate decision making
  • Develop the direct procurement team to identify suppliers and manufacturers for a range of raw materials, packaging and products from across the world
  • Monitor, plan and react quickly to changes in supply, to minimise and eliminate disruption, and maintain stock items in line with stock holding guidelines
  • Proactively monitor and communicate price increases, assess margin impact and notify relevant department(s)
  • Use a range of negotiating techniques to reduce the cost of purchases across selected areas and achieve value for money, whilst maintaining good supplier relationships.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5 years' procurement experience within a manufacturing production environment
  • Experience in successfully coaching and developing, with the proven ability to lead, inspire, coach, and manage teams to deliver results, ideally in a procurement environment
  • A positive mindset, high level of personal drive, independence and openness to learning
  • Experience of providing creative solutions to supply chain issues and managing suppliers commercially against SLA's
  • Experience of managing and delivering procurement projects
  • ERP experience - Autosmart uses IFS, experience of this application would be beneficial.
