Process Development Manager

Location: Grimsby

Salary: Up to £55,000 + bonus + benefits

Sector: Chilled Food Manufacturing

An established chilled food manufacturing business is recruiting a Process Development Manager. This role is well suited to Senior Process Technologists or Process Technologists who regularly step up, cover senior colleagues, and lead factory trials.

This is a process-driven role, focused on delivery rather than product creativity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead process development and factory scale-up from concept through to launch
  • Plan, run and document factory trials, ensuring smooth handover to Operations
  • Own customer-led changes, renovations and launches at site level
  • Manage critical paths, timelines, yields and trial costs
  • Work closely with Operations, Technical, Engineering and Commercial teams
  • Support manufacturing readiness and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentor Process Technologists and build team capability
  • Progress into line management responsibility within 6 months
Ideal Candidate Profile

You may already be:

  • An NPD Manager who has a preference in Process
  • A Senior Process Technologist, or
  • A Process Technologist acting up (covering during annual leave, sickness or customer visits), or
  • A Technologist managing projects, trials and customer interaction independently

You will have:

  • Experience in chilled food manufacturing
  • Hands-on factory trial and scale-up experience
  • Exposure to UK retailer own-label requirements
  • Good understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, customer COPs)
  • Strong organisation, communication and stakeholder skills

(chilled food experience advantageous but not essential, product experts on site to support)
