NPI / Process Engineer – New Product Introduction & BOM Control

Are you an experienced NPI Engineer / Process Engineer looking to take the lead on exciting new product introduction projects within a thriving UK windows manufacturer? This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance manufacturing performance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure smooth, successful product launches across this manufacturing site in Rayleigh.

Salary: £42,000–£45,000 per annum

Location: Rayleigh, Essex

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm

We’re seeking a driven, detail-focused engineer with a passion for Lean Manufacturing, process optimisation, and BOM control—someone who thrives on improving efficiency, eliminating waste, and building scalable production processes.

What You’ll Be Doing as Process Engineer
  • Lead and support NPI projects, collaborating closely with Technical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement teams.
  • Develop and optimise manufacturing processes that improve capability, reduce cost, and maximise productivity.
  • Maintain and control accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) data within the ERP system.
  • Identify, justify, and implement new equipment, tooling, and process improvements.
  • Produce clear SOPs, work instructions, and process workflows for new and existing products.
  • Analyse bottlenecks and inefficiencies, delivering practical solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines while coordinating cross-functional activity.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support pilot builds, process validation, and product quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For Essential
  • Degree in Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Process Engineering with strong exposure to New Product Introduction.
  • Skilled in BOM control and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and quality engineering principles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work at all levels.
  • Experienced in CAD, engineering drawings, and process documentation.
  • Proven track record of delivering manufacturing improvements.
Desirable
  • Experience within the window manufacturing industry.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or process improvement certifications.
  • AutoCAD or similar CAD skills.
  • NEBOSH or H&S qualifications.
  • Full UK driving licence.
