Job description

We have a new opportunity for a Process & Compliance Advanced Team Leader within our Manufacturing team in our Pontypool site as part of the Finsbury Food Group. In this role, you will support the manufacturing operations by providing day-to-day guidance and assistance on production processes, including investigating process issues, monitoring waste, ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and GMP standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and process adherence.

Responsibilities
  • Support production teams with day-to-day process queries and troubleshooting. Investigate process deviations, waste, and operational issues, escalating when necessary. Monitor adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), GMP, and Health & Safety requirements. Assist in maintaining quality standards through daily checks and observations. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies, suggesting improvements, and assisting in implementing small-scale process enhancements. Help the team achieve production KPIs such as waste reduction, throughput, and yield adherence. Promote a safe working environment by supporting Health & Safety practices. Contribute to a "Clean as You Go" culture across the production area. Maintain accurate records of investigations, process checks, waste reporting, and improvement suggestions. Work flexibly with the team to support production changes and shift requirements. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Site Manufacturing Lead.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential. Understanding of production processes and the impact of process deviations on product quality. Awareness of Food Safety, Health & Safety, and GMP standards. Basic problem-solving skills and ability to follow investigative procedures. Understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g., Lean, 5S, Kaizen) is desirable. Ability to work under instruction as part of a team while using initiative when required. Competent with Microsoft Office or production tracking systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. Good communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with operators and supervisors.
