This is a mixed compliance and advisory role with significant exposure to non-UK domiciled clients, high-net-worth individuals, and complex offshore structures. The position will involve managing your own client portfolio, supporting several Partners on bespoke advisory assignments, and taking an active role in the management and development of more junior team members.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services to a wide range of private clients. You will play a key part in advising on UK and international tax matters, including residence, domicile, and inheritance tax planning.

Role Requirements
  • Manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, including non-doms, HNWIs, sole traders, partnerships, and offshore trusts.
  • Support Partners in delivering high-level advisory work such as IHT and UK trust planning, residence and pre-arrival advice, and structuring of offshore trusts and companies.
  • Advise clients on the forthcoming changes to non-dom rules effective April 2025, assisting with pre-emptive planning.
  • Prepare reports and attend meetings with existing and prospective clients, setting budgets, and ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes.
  • Liaise directly with clients, HMRC, and other professional advisers on a wide range of tax matters, including inheritance tax, income tax, capital gains tax, and HMRC enquiries.
  • Review tax returns prepared by junior staff and ensure timely electronic filing.
  • Manage staff performance, provide technical support and mentoring, and participate in departmental management meetings.
  • Oversee billing, WIP management, and ensure accurate time recording.
  • Represent the firm at networking and business development events and contribute to internal publications and technical updates.
Person Requirements
  • You will be an accomplished private client tax professional with solid experience handling complex personal tax cases, particularly involving non-UK domiciliaries and offshore structures.
  • CTA qualified (essential) with at least 5 years' private client tax experience, ideally gained within a mid-tier or Top 50 firm.
  • Strong technical expertise in non-dom and offshore taxation, with up-to-date knowledge of current legislation.
  • Proven client-facing experience with the ability to communicate confidently and clearly at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and familiarity with CCH and SharePoint.
  • People management experience and a collaborative leadership style.
  • A commercial mindset with a focus on delivering high standards of client service.

If you are a highly accomplished and ambitious private client tax professional looking to take your career to the next level working for a firm of choice, then please do not hesitate to make your application now.
