As a prison officer you will carry out a range of duties in any one day, from peacekeeping to counselling to teaching. You’ll work directly with prisoners, maintaining safety for the prison, offenders and staff. Teamwork is vital; you will support colleagues and act as a unified team. You will be required to work various shifts and weekends.

Ability to build constructive, positive and professional relationships with offenders in difficult situations.
