Job description

Due to internal promotion we are now seeking a passionate clinician to join our UKAS accredited team.

The department provides a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation for children, covering both secondary and tertiary care.

Main duties of the job
  • To perform specialist diagnostic audiological procedures and provide a comprehensive specialist hearing aid service to children, including determining care plans for individual patients, and involving carers and families as appropriate.
  • To assist with the day‑to‑day management of the London North West University Healthcare Paediatric Audiology service.
  • To take an active role in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service, which may include designing and completing audits within own field, participating in data collection for larger projects, and contributing to the development of evidence‑based protocols.
  • To plan and prioritise elements of own workload, within the framework of service delivery priorities as defined by the Clinical Lead and Head of Service, and supervise the work of other members of the team as appropriate, including junior audiologists, trainees and students.
  • To support IQIPs accreditation for the service.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of Service and Clinical Lead to develop and adapt the service according to changing criteria and demographics.
  • Assist the Head of Service and Clinical Lead to manage changes in practice and establish new systems of working when necessary.
  • Act as a point of contact for more junior staff within the service.
  • Provide clinical supervision within specialist area(s).
  • Mentor and / or act as supervisor for trainee staff as required.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Service and Clinical Lead be responsible for leading aspects of a sub‑section of the service.
