Principal Structural Engineer – Underground Structures

A specialist consultancy, based in London are looking to employ a Principal Structural Engineer in their Underground Structures and Tunnelling team to help them deliver some of the most impressive and technically challenging projects in the UK and across the World.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver UK and international projects
  • Support and develop technical capabilities across service areas
  • Provide engineering solutions and present findings to managers and clients
  • Perform structural design and analysis using advanced software and global standards
  • Manage staff time, budgets, and project schedules
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design processes and liaise with clients and stakeholders
  • Plan and allocate resources to optimise efficiency and revenue
  • Ensure quality and consistency through standardised procedures and peer reviews
  • Follow company procedures for service delivery and project management
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship building
  • Collaborate with internal teams and support cross-disciplinary initiatives
Requirements
  • The ideal candidate will be Chartered (ICE) and also have a post-grad qualification in a structural engineering related subject.
  • You must already have significant underground structures experience, whether that is tunnels, station boxes or shafts etc.
  • Experience in major infrastructure projects (often exceeding £100million)
  • Experience with various different design standards (Eurocodes, UK codes, AASHTO and other international industry standards)
Salary
  • £53,000 – £65,000
