There are also opportunities to be involved in staff training, service development and case formulation with teams.

The role within LPOP will focus on work within the general hospitals and link in with the psychological provision within the 4 Older People’s Community Mental Health Teams (OPCMHTs), 2 in‑patient psychiatric units in the county and the Memory Assessment Services (MAS), each of which has its own psychology provision.

  • Offer assessment, formulation and intervention for a wide range of presentations.
  • Offer Case Formulation and training sessions for staff teams to extend psychological ways of working, including joint training within the Frailty pathway.
  • Offer enhanced neuropsychological assessment to support dementia diagnosis for older people with more complex presentations.
  • Build on systems and processes that support person‑centred care for people with dementia at the general hospitals.

About us

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools.

NHFT promotes a culture of learning to improve the care and safety of our patients and staff, which focuses on people who enable our Trust to be ‘outstanding’ by supporting opportunity, innovation, development and growth.

There are a significant number of psychologists employed within the Trust working across different specialties and there are excellent opportunities for professional development through regular monthly psychology meetings and active peer supervision networks. We welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds who are under‑represented in service delivery.

Joining this service can offer:

  • Supervision from the Principal Clinical Neuropsychologist.
