The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in clinical psychology and strong leadership skills. The position offers competitive remuneration and opportunities for professional development.
We are looking to recruit a Principal Psychologist to provide leadership and specialist psychological provision to the adult community mental health teams in the Rhondda/Cynon/Taf area. The successful candidate will provide management, support and mentoring to junior colleagues within the team. The post holder will be a senior clinical leader helping to provide timely, effective, modern, evidence based therapies delivered by a well trained and supervised multi-disciplinary workforce. They will themselves provide highly specialist psychological services within an assigned community mental health team (CMHT) and develop suitable models for increasing the capacity within CMHTs to offer systematic stepped care to people with complex needs who require psychological treatment as part of their recovery plan. They will supervise the work of less experienced psychologists or other professions. Thus their work will involve providing highly specialist interventions as well as developing fit for purpose psychological services within their assigned service areas. The postholder is expected to be research active and to contribute to our organisational status as a university health board.
The successful candidate will hold line management and clinical supervision responsibility for other psychologists within the team.
The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
