An established industry player is seeking a Principal Level Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their dynamic team in Milton Keynes or Swindon. This role offers excellent development and progression prospects within a friendly and busy consultancy that works on diverse projects across southern England. You will manage a small team, lead technical assessments, and engage in project management while ensuring compliance with contaminated land legislation. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills and a proven track record in project management, making a significant impact in a collaborative environment.
My client has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Level Geo-Environmental Engineer for either their Milton Keynes or Swindon offices with great development and progression prospects versus a larger consultancy.
They are a busy and friendly geo-environmental, geotechnical and site investigation company operating on varying size projects across the south of England, Wales and the Midlands for a range of clients from small to medium house builders to commercial businesses and mineral extraction, allowing staff to gather a breadth of knowledge in a short space of time.
Responsibilities
·Manage and mentor a small team of Engineers
·Technical lead in team
·Carrying out Site Contamination Assessments from Stage 1 Tier 1 to Stage 3.
·Carrying out Site Investigation for geotechnical appraisal and combined investigations using all common techniques.
·Scheduling contamination, waste classification and geotechnical laboratory testing
·Design of remediation works and validation
·Interpretative geo-environmental report writing
·Project management and client liaison, including project cost control
·Carry out infiltration testing.
·Good HSEQ understanding
·Full clean driving license
A thorough technical understanding of contaminated land legislation and consultancy would be required. Also an understanding of interpretative geotechnical report writing would be advantageous, as would a working understanding of the EIA process and reporting advantageous.
Qualifications
The candidate would be degree qualified in a relevant field, with a related Masters Degree being advantageous, as would be Chartership with a relevant body.
The candidate must have a good level of experience specialising in Ground Investigation, especially Geo-Environmental aspects.

The ideal candidate would be a solution focused person with excellent communication skills and have a traceable HSEQ and technical record as well as being an effective project manager and highly competent manager and mentor to junior staff.
