JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Electrical Designer (contract). The role will be working at our Reading office on a large FEED for a gas related project in the Middle East.

The Role

As a Electrical Designer you will be delivering electrically related documentation on a autonomous basis with minimal oversight of the project Engineering team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cable Routing Design (above and below ground)
• General Electrical Equipment Layouts including Sub-station Layouts
• Single Line Diagrams / protection schemes
• Hazardous Area Layouts
• 3D Modelling
• Power and Earthing Layouts
• Cable & Drum Schedules
• Schematic / Connection Diagrams
• Earthing Systems
• Lighting System Design (including lighting design software application)

QUALIFICATIONS

What makes you remarkable?

Expected :

• HNC in Electrical Engineering, or related subject
• A proven track record in the following project phases : FEED, Detailed Engineering (EPC)
• Be technically strong and have experience within the Oil and Gas and Power transmission industry (Overhead lines and buried HV / MV / LV cables)
• Ability to review client specification and develop techno economic optimised design solutions
• Computer literate with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Previous Saudi Aramco experience
