Qualifications

  • Significant years of experience in electrical design for Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Power projects.
  • Experience in FEED or EPC projects.
  • Strong skills in cable tray and trench sizing calculations.
  • Experience preparing/reviewing BOM panels and cable schedules.
  • Ability to review/approve Dialux lighting calculations and designs.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project design reviews.

Description

Scope of Work

The Principal Electrical Designer will be responsible for producing the following deliverables :

  • Review / provide guidance for preparation of all design related deliverables such as BOM Panel and Cable schedule 3D model and extraction of all layouts interconnection wiring drawings etc
  • Input for drafting Area classification drawings and other layouts.
  • Review calculations for Cable tray and trench sizing.
  • Decide the substation layouts optimizing the size and design of the same along with the lead Engr.
  • Provide guidance for preparation of all layout drawings 3D models and MTO generation to design team.
  • Finalize installation drawings for each specific project.
  • Participate in project design reviews.
  • Perform inter-discipline squad checks.
  • Attend model reviews as per project schedule.
  • Site surveys and adequacy checks if required.
  • Perform technical audits and quality reviews.
  • Site support as required.
  • Work out the MFL for the design team as per the project schedule and inform LE / HOD well in advance if any additional resource requirements.
  • 3D TOOLS like PDS / SP3D / AUTOPLANT
  • 3D model review
  • Review / approve Dia lux lighting calculations and design
  • Shall be professional to run / review and approve AutoCAD / MicroStation design
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (or Diploma with strong experience)
  • Significant years of experience in electrical design for Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Power projects
  • Experience in FEED or EPC projects
  • Proficiency in 3D design tools : SP3D / PDS / AutoPlant
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and / or MicroStation
  • Knowledge of international standards (IEC IEEE NEC BS NFPA etc.)
  • Experience preparing / reviewing BOM panel schedules cable schedules
  • Experience preparing / reviewing 3D model layouts extractions wiring / interconnection drawings
  • Experience with area classification drawings and hazardous area design
  • Strong skills in cable tray and trench sizing calculations
  • Experience in substation layouts and equipment room optimization
  • Skilled in preparing / reviewing layout drawings installation drawings and MTO generation
  • Experience in model reviews design reviews and inter-discipline squad checks
  • Ability to review / approve Dialux lighting calculations and designs
  • Experience in site surveys adequacy checks and site technical support
  • Involvement in technical audits and quality reviews
