Overview

Description

Do you have a passion for innovation driven by digitalisation and decarbonisation and want to solve complex challenges in the energy industry? Here at DNV what we do matters. Whether it’s helping the Energy Industry transition to a more decarbonised and sustainable future or helping safeguard life, property and the environment every day, what you do will make a difference. This is our shared purpose and one our people are proud to be part of.

We’re at the heart of the digital transformation, having secured several exciting high-profile digitalization projects with clients across the Energy sector. To accelerate this transformation, we’re expanding our capabilities to enhance and grow our energy systems digitalisation services and expertise.

As part of our team you’ll play a key role in transforming how the Energy industry leverages value from digital technologies across all energy vectors—from power grids to gas networks; from energy production to storage. From AI to data science; from digital twinning approaches to complex sensing and automation techniques—you’ll need to be knowledgeable, experienced and capable of leading engagements with customers on these topics.

Our Opportunity :

Our Digital Energy team in the UK and Ireland helps customers in the energy industry prepare for the future by building trust in their digital assets and delivering data-driven insights that enhance performance and ensure compliance. As organizations invest heavily in AI and other digital technologies, many face challenges in proving the trustworthiness of these innovations to stakeholders. This is the trust gap that DNV seeks to close through new services and recommended practices for the safe application of industrial AI and other digital solutions such as digital twins. By demonstrating the safety and trustworthiness of these technologies we empower our customers to fully leverage these digital solutions, boosting their efficiency and profitability. We call this Digital Trust.

Assurance of digital assets and systems is a core element of the DNV strategy. As a Principal Consultant you’ll take on senior-level responsibility within a growing team of creative thinkers who thrive operating at the intersection of digital technology and the energy system to make a real impact on the future of our planet. You’ll lead projects, customer engagements and workshops while mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Working with customers and technology companies in the energy industry across the entire value chain (e.g. decarbonization, renewables, power grids, transmission and distribution) you’ll adopt a solutions-led approach to enriching the value and capability of our client-facing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead digital assurance projects including AI and digital twin technologies.
  • Provide advisory services on digital technology adoption and development.
  • Conduct audits of customer processes, practices and codebases.
  • Deliver consulting services focused on:
  • Data analytics and pipelines
  • Cloud architecture
  • Prototype / MVP web-app development
  • Own the development of specific deliverables for digital advisory and assurance projects.
  • Drive technical best practices within the team and for clients.
  • Write proposals and support new business development.
  • Collaborate with engineers to explore new services across the energy value chain.

Based from either our London, Glasgow or Bristol offices you’ll be given responsibility from day one, collaborating with forward-thinking customers and technical experts across our business to deliver career and industry-defining projects. You will be given the time to build your network, the resources to support your development and the freedom to satisfy your curiosity and desire to learn.

We’re seeking candidates who are passionate about working at the intersection of technology and the energy system within a relatively small yet creative team.

Responsibilities

We value all of our people and the contribution they make to our business, so it’s important that our rewards make us all feel valued here. That’s why we recognise personal needs and offer a flexible reward and benefits package allowing you to choose the things that matter to you including;

  • Exceptional development and career progression opportunities
  • Non-contractual Profit Share Scheme
  • Lifestyle benefits: 26 days annual leave, bank holidays, opportunity for up to 10 days unpaid leave, sabbatical leave, flexible working options
  • Wellbeing benefits: Private Medical, Dental Insurance, Health Assessments, Gym allowance; company contribution towards eye tests and glasses (for computer / laptop users) and Flu Vaccinations; Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) with free and confidential support; free fruit in offices
  • Financial Benefits: Pension scheme with employer contributions up to 9%, Life Assurance and Income Protection
