A healthcare trust in Leeds is looking for a Clinical Psychology Manager to oversee trainee clinical psychologists. The role includes direct management, governance policy development, and multi-disciplinary collaboration. Candidates must have post-graduate clinical psychology training and experience in clinical supervision. Thisis an exciting opportunity to join a small team within a well establishedDepartment of Clinical and Health Psychology (DHCP). The role as to work asdirect line manager for trainee clinical psychologists on the Doctor ofClinical Psychology Programme at the University of Leeds, currently thirtytrainees per year. The team consists of the Joint Programme Director, twosenior managers and two administrators who together ensure the smooth runningof the management of the trainees within Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trusts.This involves regular meetings with trainees, and liaison with the Programmestaff team at the University of Leeds
The role will involve direct line management of trainees: trainees are allocatedto a manager at the start of their three year training programme with anexpectation that this person will be managerially responsible for this personthroughout. Responsibilities therefore include: health, safety and riskissues; annual, sick and other leave; expenses; mandatory training, supportneeds etc. The role will involve attendance at clinical governancemeetings within the DCHP and the development of governance policies in linewith both NHS and University requirements. It will also be a requirement toattend the Doctor of Clinical Psychology Programme team meetings and awaydays as appropriate. Where necessary training will be provided, alongsideon-going supervision and support.

JOBPURPOSE
Toprovide a qualified specialist clinical psychology management service totrainee clinical psychological staff who are working across all sites andsectors of care by:
Providing specialist psychologicalmanagement for clinical psychologists in training
Offering advice, supervision andconsultation regarding staff well-being for these staff
Developing, supporting andmaintaining effective working relationships with other disciplines including HR, OH, University staff
Using research skills for audit,policy and service development and leading on research projects
Proposing and implementing policychanges within the specialist area served
Working autonomously in thedelivery of these duties within professional guidelines, the evidence-basedliterature and the overall framework of the Team, Department of Clinical& Health Psychology and Trust policies and procedures.
