Job description
Overview

We are looking to recruit a Principal Clinical Psychologist at Band 8a (or Band 7 with preceptorship opportunity) to work in the Fareham & Gosport Older People\'s Mental Health CMHTs for 22.5 hours per week. You will automatically be considered for other equivalent posts within OPMH.

Gosport is in the Portsmouth and South East (PSE) Hampshire Division of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Regular clinical supervision will be provided and we also meet monthly, as a group, for neuropsychological supervision. There are close working relationships with Adult Mental Health Services and the University of Southampton, which is the base for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course. There are opportunities to be involved in teaching Trainee Clinical Psychologists, for collaboration with other professionals and academic staff, and participation in research. It is possible some travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessment (including neuropsychology) and therapy to older people in the community and clinic.
  • Be a source of advice to the multi-professional team on psychological issues and offer consultation to other mental health and physical health professionals.
  • Supervise a Trainee Clinical Psychologist and contribute to service development.
  • Support opportunities to develop neuropsychology skills where there is interest.
  • Contribute to teaching, professional collaboration, and research activities as part of the team.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Eligible for or currently holding Band 8a (or Band 7 with preceptorship) in clinical psychology.
  • Experience in older people\'s mental health and the ability to provide psychological input in community and clinic settings.
  • Interest in neuropsychology with opportunity to develop these skills further.
  • Experience in supervision of trainees and involvement in service development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with multi-professional teams and academic partners.

Salary

£55,690 to £62,682 a year. Please note for part time hours the salary will be pro rata.
