Randstad Education is urgently seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to join our team, supporting excellent schools throughout Sefton. We offer a variety of placements to suit your availability, including immediate day-to-day cover, stable long-term, and full-time opportunities.

Essential Requirements for Application

We are seeking candidates who meet the following strict criteria:

  • Experience: A minimum of six months' paid experience working with Primary-aged children in a UK school setting, OR relevant volunteering experience and qualifications.
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible and available for various types of work, including long-term, full-time, and day-to-day assignments.
  • Compliance: Possession of an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is mandatory.
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK is mandatory.
  • Please note: Randstad does not offer sponsorship or visa support for this role.
Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the class teacher and pupils across different year groups. Your duties will include:

  • Providing essential one-to-one and small group support for pupil learning.
  • Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation and general administration.
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) where necessary.
  • Supervising children during non-contact times, such as lunch and play.
