Job description
Overview

Up to £65,283 + TLR. The salary for this role will be pro-rated, based on a three-day working week. Alongside your class teaching responsibilities, you will take the lead on mathematics across the school, driving standards, supporting colleagues, and ensuring a consistent and engaging approach to maths teaching.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on mathematics across the school to drive standards and support colleagues in delivering a consistent and engaging maths curriculum.
  • Fulfil class teaching responsibilities as part of the role.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and teaching experience.
  • Must have worked with pupils who are autistic and have previous experience of this.
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of ways as 70% of our pupils are non-verbal (e.g., use of Makaton, picture display symbols; PECs and PODD; experience working with non-verbal pupils).
  • Experience working with pupils who display challenging behaviour and the ability to support pupils to manage behaviour and understand the function of behaviour.
  • Flexibility to work with pupils from 4 to 11 years old.
  • Ability to think creatively to deliver lessons with a bespoke and accessible curriculum.
  • Awareness of autism strategies such as TEACCH, attention autism, PODD; ability to apply these strategies in practice.
