Primary Teaching Assistant - Mansfield, Nottingham

Day-to-Day, Part-Time & Full-Time Positions Available

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary schools across Mansfield, Nottingham. Whether you're looking for flexible day-to-day work, consistent part-time hours, or full-time long-term placements, we have opportunities to suit your availability.

About the Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help create a positive learning environment and assist with pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and across whole classes

  • Assist with phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy activities

  • Help plan and prepare learning resources

  • Promote positive behaviour and support daily classroom routines

  • Offer tailored support for pupils with SEND and additional needs

  • Supervise children during activities, transitions, and break times

  • Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learners

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE/NCFE or equivalent)

  • Recent UK school-based experience, ideally within a primary setting

  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable Experience
  • Knowledge of the EYFS, KS1, or KS2 curriculum

  • Experience delivering or supporting phonics (RWI, Little Wandle, etc.)

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, EAL, or behavioural needs

  • Ability to deliver small-group interventions
