A leading construction recruitment firm is looking for a Preconstruction Planner in Ipswich, offering an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects. The role involves producing detailed tender programmes, developing logistics layouts, and collaborating with project teams. Candidates should have strong planning software skills and an understanding of construction methods. This position provides competitive benefits, including a company vehicle, annual leave, and a supportive team environment for professional development.
My client is offering a Preconstruction Planner position based in Ipswich, working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, education, healthcare, industrial and conservation projects. This Preconstruction Planner role offers variety, influence and early-stage involvement, giving you genuine ownership of programmes, methodology and sequencing before projects reach site, with the backing of a well-established regional contractor.
In this Preconstruction Planner role, you will be involved from bid stage onwards, producing detailed preconstruction and tender programmes using Asta Powerproject, developing logistics layouts and sequencing drawings, and compiling written construction methodologies that clearly demonstrate how projects will be delivered. You will also support live projects by identifying critical paths, assessing programme risk, preparing reports and presentations, and collaborating closely with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure programmes are robust, realistic and well communicated.
This opportunity would suit a Preconstruction Planner who enjoys using planning software as a strategic tool, applying a strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing and processes, and interpreting drawings, specifications and contract documentation to add value early. It will appeal to someone who likes working collaboratively, managing their own workload, and using analytical thinking and attention to detail to solve problems before they arise, with exposure to NEC and JCT forms and modern preconstruction practices.
My client is a highly respected construction and property development business with over a century of heritage and a strong reputation across East Anglia for quality, reliability and innovation. Their Ipswich-based preconstruction team is supportive, experienced and growing due to continued project success, offering an environment where a Preconstruction Planner can build long-term stability while developing professionally across multiple sectors.
If you are a Preconstruction Planner looking for early project involvement, variety and the chance to influence how projects are won and delivered, Select Recruitment would love to speak with you.
