Pre-Construction Manager – Specialist FRA Contractor Dartford Up to £50,000 Package

A well-established specialist contractor within the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) and Passive Fire Protection (PFP) sector is seeking an experienced Pre‑Construction Manager to support the growth of its technical and pre‑construction function. This is a great opportunity to join a business delivering fully compliant, safety‑critical solutions across survey, design, installation, and maintenance.

The Role

You will lead the full pre‑construction lifecycle, ensuring projects are technically robust, commercially viable, and fully compliant with fire safety standards. The role involves feasibility assessments, design reviews, value engineering, programme planning, and managing all technical documentation. You will act as the key point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams, ensuring clarity and a seamless handover into delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pre‑construction activities across multiple passive fire protection projects, including feasibility studies, risk assessments, and planning.
• Review design proposals and fire risk assessments to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and the supply chain to optimise solutions and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, resource plans, and pre‑construction documentation.
• Assess subcontractor and supplier proposals for compliance.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support tenders and bids with technical input and programme planning.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry legislation and best practice.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in pre‑construction or estimating within fire protection, construction, or fire & security.
• Strong knowledge of fire doors, fire stopping, compartmentation, and containment systems.
• Experience producing budgets and plans for projects valued £2–5 million.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
• Commercially aware with strong stakeholder management.
• Competent with project management and digital quality systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
