Staff Nurse - Pre-Assessment | Cheltenham Hospital | Bank | Adhoc | Includes weekend work

Main duties of the job

As a Pre-Assessment Staff Nurse, you will:

  • Be part of a close-knit team delivering matron-led care in a consultant-led service
  • As the first point of contact you will work with leading talent and professionals to make the right assessments for patients prior to their surgery
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge base and assessment skills to ensure patient care
  • Fully understand and support the needs of each patient and their family
  • Offer comfort and reassurance, providing the highest standards of care
  • Build your experience across new practices, equipment and facilities
  • Work with practitioners in other areas, understanding that continuity in patient care is key
About us

Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital is located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. It has good transport links to the M5 and A417. The hospital offers 33 ensuite private bedrooms, 3 theatres and a small ambulatory unit, plus a close observation unit, 12 consulting rooms and access to treatment rooms with diagnostic services including plain x-ray, MRI, CT, mammography and ultrasound. We provide a full range of medical and surgical specialties delivered in state-of-the-art facilities, including orthopaedics, cosmetic surgery, spinal services, sports injury, ENT, gynaecology, urology, and a rapid access breast clinic.

Job responsibilities

The role is bank/adhoc with weekend work. You’ll be registered with the appropriate governing body (including NMC) and bring relevant post-registration experience. Responsibilities include:
