JOB TITLE: PRACTICE NURSE HOURS: Full time 30 hours a week LOCATION: Grange Medical Practice Bishop Street Cardiff Due to a recent growth in patient numbers, and change of personnel we are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly team at Grange Medical Practice.

Grange Medical Practice is a busy, inner-city Practice in the south of Cardiff, serving a diverse population of 11,500 patients.

We are an 8-partner training practice with an experienced and friendly nursing team.

We operate from a large modern practice, with excellent facilities/treatment rooms etc, including free on-site parking.

Salary dependent on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the clinical team.
  • Cytology, Wound care / ulcer care, Doppler, Removal of Sutures, New Patient Medicals, Urinalysis, Travel Clinic.
  • Immunisations/Advice, ECGs, Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry, Venepuncture, Administer B12, Prostap etc.
  • Support of clinicians with minor surgery, coil fittings etc.
  • Hypertension Management, Routine immunisations, Childhood immunisations, Annual Flu campaign.
  • Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate.
  • Requesting pathology tests, e.g., urine culture, swabs, Diabetes and Respiratory Reviews, Contraception.
  • Other clinical tasks that are within training and responsibility limits.
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs.
  • Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms.
  • Ordering of disposables to maintain stock levels.
