Job description

To be professionally accountable for the maintenance of standards of professional practice as set by the appropriate regulatory body applicable to your profession or role.

To support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Senior Midwife with the assessment of training needs and subsequent development, delivery of training programmes including Nurse/Midwife induction, Care Certificate and on-going educational and clinical development programmes for nurses.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Neonatal Nurse to join our Education Team.

As a Practice Education Facilitator, you would be accountable for :

Ensuring safe and effective clinical practice

Enhancing the patient\'s experience

Ensuring effective contribution to the delivery of the organisation\'s objectives

Main duties of the job

To ensure safe and effective clinical/educational practice.

To work within an educational environment. Supporting and reinforcing the values and standards of compassion and respect in care, demonstrating analysis and decision-making skills. Supporting in the delivery of educational sessions to qualified nurses/midwives, providing a clinically and educationally excellent, high-quality service which will influence and facilitate change within the organisation.

Ensure a high standard of care and record keeping in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Council, Health and Care Professions Council, national legislation, and local standards.

To promote learning within the clinical environment

To work with other departments within the Trust to facilitate learning to support service developments and to support staff in practice who are subject to capability/competence processes.

Demonstrate a specialist level of knowledge, skill and understanding of clinical practice standards within the Trust acting as a resource and role model to colleagues.

Support staff with specialist advice in relation to practice education.

Work alongside clinical staff, promoting best practice, providing support and education, facilitating a learning environment and development of staff to meet local requirements.

When delivering training sessions and supporting staff clinically, promote that all staff are aware of and adhere to all relevant Trust policies and procedures as part of educational activity.
