50 Best is seeking a passionate and proactive Junior PR Account Executive to support the delivery of PR and Communications activity across the 50 Best brand. Reporting into the Senior PR & Communications Manager and working closely with the Assistant PR & Communications Manager and Senior PR Account Executive, the role is essential for ensuring the smooth day-to-day execution of tasks, including media monitoring, reporting, media list maintenance, and coordination with external agencies. The 50 Best brand is the leading authority in global gastronomy, international drinks and premium travel space, showcasing worldwide trends and highlighting great restaurants, bars, hotels and vineyards around the world. We have offices in Gatwick, Brighton and London, UK; Montpellier, France; Singapore and Chicago, US. In line with the Company's current Agile Working Policy, the successful candidate would be eligible to work part of the week from our London & Gatwick offices and to work remotely for the rest of the week. Responsibilities
- Supporting the in-house 50 Best PR team and external agencies in coordinating media materials, timelines, administrative tasks and deliverables, including but not limited to: updating and maintaining the master media database, managing website 'Media sign up' requests, compiling media kits, creating templates and databases
- Managing media monitoring processes, documents and reporting via Cision Brandwatch, ensuring accurate coverage tracking
- Responding directly to media queries received by 50 Best (with support from the Senior PR & Comms Manager), or delegating to PR agencies accordingly, and liaising with vendors such as PR Newswire and Cision Brandwatch
- Reviewing daily Cision Brandwatch media alerts for key coverage or factual inaccuracies and compiling email updates for the 50 Best PR team accordingly
- Keeping abreast of relevant media trends and sharing relevant articles of interest with wider PR and Content team
- Managing the online Media Centre with the Content team and ensuring relevant press releases and assets are uploaded in a timely manner
- Attending weekly team meetings, and producing minutes and action lists following relevant calls and meetings, when required
- Assisting the Senior PR & Comms Manager in ensuring that all PR agencies' preliminary and post-event PR reports are completed to a high standard and include all relevant data
- Collaborating with wider 50 Best Content, Partnerships and Operations teams to align PR activity and assets with wider brand campaigns, update press materials with necessary 50 Best partner information and co-ordinate media invitation designs
- Travelling internationally to support the PR team during live 50 Best events
- Assisting with ad hoc research or reporting
Qualifications
- The Junior PR Account Executive will have excellent organisational and communication skills, along with a passion for food, drink and travel, to help sustain the quality, consistency, and strategic impact of 50 Best's global PR efforts.
- Previous experience in a PR, communications or media role (agency or in-house), ideally with exposure to international brands
- Experience using media monitoring platforms such as Cision Brandwatch and a familiarity with PR Newswire or other newswire platforms
- Fantastic communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with both external and internal stakeholders including engaging with media at in-person events
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise, manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate documentation with great attention to detail
- Enthusiastic, proactive and reliable team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to be flexible and learn
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
- Passion for food, drink and travel and hospitality sectors, as well as an interest in global media
- Ability to use initiative and recognise when to seek guidance from managers
- Proficient IT skills including MS Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Knowledge of Adobe tools is desirable, but not essential
- Ability to speak additional languages would be advantageous, but not essential
- Willingness to travel to international events and flexibility in working hours
