Qualifications

  • Experience as a Senior Support Worker leading support for people with complex needs.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 4 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care.
  • Knowledge of Makaton is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of PBS Support Workers centred around a customer with complex presentation.
  • Support customers with all aspects of daily living in a person-centred way.
  • Plan and oversee complex support for customers displaying behaviours of concern.

Job description
Positive Behaviour Support Team Leader

Pay £13.98 per hour (£27,338 per annum) with benefits including a Health Cash Plan. Temporary 9‑month contract, full‑time (37.5 hours per week), 2 admin days in service and 22.5 hours a week on rota. Location: Ashford. We can’t offer a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

Join us in this great and rewarding job as our Positive Behavioural Support Team Leader. You will manage a team to provide person‑centred and strengths‑based support to our customer (S) and help them reach their full potential. S has complex needs including a moderate learning disability, autism, non‑verbal communication, and sensory processing challenges. S is in their early 20s, is outgoing, cheeky, and enjoys spending time outdoors.

What you’ll do
  • You’ll manage a team of PBS Support Workers centred around a customer with complex presentation.
  • Your team will support customers with all aspects of daily living, working in a person‑centred, strengths‑based, psychologically informed way.
  • You will keep regular contact with your manager, updating, escalating and reporting on all aspects of service delivery.
  • You will plan and oversee complex support for customers who display behaviours of concern and may require personal care, working alongside Home Group’s local multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Motivate, direct, guide, coach and support your team to work with our customers.

What you have
  • Experience in CQC‑regulated services, or a Level 4 Diploma in Adult Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience as a Senior Support Worker, leading support for people with complex needs or behaviours of distress.
  • A patient and calm approach, able to adapt your style to each client’s needs and circumstances, even when they challenge you.
  • Excellent people‑management and motivation skills, bringing colleagues together to share information, best practice and foster creativity.
  • Experience of positive risk management, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle insured for business purposes (you will receive mileage reimbursement).
  • Knowledge of Makaton is a plus but not required.
