Portworx Software CoE Architect – Europe

As Portworx Software CoE Architect – Europe you will build and lead the early technical capability of the Portworx Software Centre of Excellence within NTT DATA Technology Solutions.

This role exists to drive pipeline growth, create technical credibility, and establish Portworx expertise across priority European countries. Focusing on Modern Virtualisation, Modern Applications and Data Mobility.

The Architect will act as the technical advocate for Pure / Portworx inside NTT DATA, accelerating Modern Virtualization, Kubernetes modernisation, and AI-aligned Platform Engineering opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
1. Pre-Sales & Pipeline Acceleration (Primary Focus, ~80%)
  • Drive technical discovery, qualification and solution shaping for Portworx opportunities across EMEA.
  • Build momentum around Portworx within NTT DATA country teams (sales, architects, application modernization, Cloud).
  • Deliver technical workshops, demos, and repeatable presentations for Modern Virtualization, K8s Resilience, and Application Modernization use cases.
  • Act as the technical intelligence point for Portworx products (PX-Virt, PX-Store, PX-DR, PX-KV).
  • Support early lighthouse accounts with solution design aligned to Pure PS / SSE.
2. Capability Development (Secondary Focus, ~20%)
  • Become certified and proficient across the four Portworx software products.
  • Help define and evolve the technical CoE capability, (frameworks, patterns, reusable architectures).
  • Work with Pure PS / CX teams to bring best-practice templates, migration kits, DR blueprints and reference architectures into NTT DATA Technology Solutions.
  • Contribute to the stand‑up of a Portworx lab environment for demos, POCs and training.
  • Support the early enablement of delivery engineers (introductory training, shadowing, certification guidance).
3. Internal Advocacy & Cross-Functional Engagement
  • Educate country teams on where Portworx fits in modernisation and AI roadmaps.
  • Drive internal alignment between Pure, Portworx, Technology Solution sales, and the emerging delivery capability.
  • Help shape the first 2–3 lighthouse wins.
Required Experience
  • Strong hands‑on background with Kubernetes (admin‑level understanding of clusters, stateful workloads, operators, scheduling).
  • Proven experience with VMware platforms (ESXi, vSphere, migration patterns).
  • Solid knowledge of storage infrastructure — block, file, snapshots, replication, DR patterns.
  • 3–7 years in customer‑facing architecture / pre‑sales roles, preferably in cloud, infra modernisation or platform engineering.
  • Strong communication and workshop‑facilitation skills.
  • Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and advocate for them internally.
Desirable Skills
  • Exposure to container platforms (OpenShift, Rancher, AKS / EKS / GKE).
  • Understanding of multi‑AZ DR, backup, and resilience strategies.
  • Experience working with distributed systems and critical workloads.
  • Certifications : CKA / CKAD, VMware VCP, Red Hat / OpenShift certs.
