Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK and is recruiting for a Portering Team member at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to support the 24/7 portering service.

Shift Pattern
  • Post 1: 14.8 hours per week (Monday 9am‑4:48pm & Friday 9am‑5pm)
  • Post 2: 19.44 hours per week (Monday‑Friday 7am‑11am)
Responsibilities

As a portering team member you will:

  • Provide regular and ad‑hoc portering duties and respond to emergency situations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of ward entrances and exits and manage patient movement.
  • Handle waste, linen, mailroom, delivery receipt and transportation of goods to required services/departments.
  • Work closely with other facilities services to support overall patient care.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and practical experience in non‑clinical administrative and support service functions.
  • Self‑motivated, problem‑solving attitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Resilient to unpredictable/emergency situations; essential training will be provided during induction.
