A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking dedicated individuals to support clinical teams in ensuring optimal patient care. The role involves aiding patient movement, waste disposal, and handling medical gases while adhering to high hygiene standards. Candidates must be hardworking, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. A driving license and basic numeracy are essential, while experience in manual handling is desirable. This is a pivotal role in providing excellent customer care amidst the challenges of healthcare environments.
1 x 32.5 hours per week, worked over 7-day rota, The aim of the role is to support the clinical teams in maintaining the optimum environment for our patients. The main duties are to support patient movement, removal and disposal of waste, handling of medical gases. The post holder is required to undertake routine portering activities that are task driven and require a basic level of competence within a limited amount of time under the guidance of the Patient Environment Services at One Lancashire and South Cumbria. These need to be in line with the National Cleaning Standards, departmental standing Operational Procedures and Trust Policies. To ensure a timely and efficient patient movement whilst providing excellent levels of customer care.

We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal – as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1‑3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.
