Job summary

A prominent legal practice in the UK is seeking a dynamic Police Station Representative for its team in Stevenage or Luton. This role supports clients in police stations across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, providing high-quality defense representation. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months’ experience in a criminal defense setting and demonstrate excellent communication, legal research, and organizational skills. You will be expected to work flexibly, including out of hours commitments, to meet operational demands and uphold the firm’s strong client care standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months experience within a busy criminal defence environment.
  • Police Station Accreditation or working towards it.
  • Situated within reasonable distance of Herts/Beds for prompt attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients detained in police stations across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
  • Provide high-quality advice and representation during core office and out of hours.
  • Handle a broad range of criminal matters, including legal aid and private work.

Job description

My client is seeking a dynamic, commercially minded Police Station Representative to join their firm in Luton in Bedfordshire or Stevange in Hertfordshire.

This is a key role supporting clients detained in police stations across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and nearby regions. You will provide high quality advice and representation, working both within core office hours and through the out of hours rota as required.

The firm is known for its strong reputation in criminal defence and handles a broad range of matters from general crime through to more serious and complex cases. They undertake both legal aid and private work, therefore the standard of client care and responsiveness must be consistently high.

Applicants must
  • Have a minimum of 12 months experience within a busy criminal defence environment
  • Hold Police Station Accreditation (or be working towards it; accreditation will be highly advantageous)
  • Be located within reasonable distance of Herts/Beds for prompt attendance at local stations
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet operational demands, including out of hours commitments
