Your Role:

The podcast video editor role is at the heart of The Times and The Sunday Times digital content creation strategy, responsible for delivering high-quality visualised podcasts for our app, website, YouTube and social channels.

The ideal candidate will be a video editor with a clear understanding of The Times and The Sunday Times audiences – present and future. You will have proven experience in editing news and politics video for online platforms, including YouTube, and be comfortable working with our political journalists across both titles to leverage their knowledge and expertise.

Working with our studio and podcast teams, you will be responsible for creating engaging video content from our filmed material. You should be as comfortable editing one‑minute vertical videos for social as you are editing long‑form material. Some experience in filming visualised podcasts is also desirable, both in studio and remotely.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships and work comfortably across the newsroom
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, including AutoPod; some understanding of Adobe After Effects is also desirable
  • Experience of using Riverside software for virtual recording
  • Edit paced and engaging business video podcasts, sometimes under great time pressure, ensuring that all information is accurate and in‑house style
  • Editing shorter packages for YouTube and social channels
  • Filming podcasts in person when required
  • NCTJ or equivalent qualification
