Job summary

A leading project management consultancy is seeking a PMO Lead for an initial 6-month assignment in the United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will have active SC Clearance and expertise in Project Management Office operations, including leadership in a PMO team. Responsibilities include implementing best practices in government project delivery, managing project scheduling, and overseeing risk management. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and related tools is required. This hybrid role is based in Milton Keynes or London.

PMO LEAD

Summer-Browning Associates are currently supporting our client within the central government, who are seeking a PMO Lead on an initial 6-month assignment.

Location: Milton Keynes / London - Hybrid
The ideal candidate will possess active SC Clearance and have a strong background in Project Management Office operations, with the following skills and experiences:

  • Experience working in a PMO environment and implementing best practice frameworks that align with large-scale Government Project Delivery standards and processes.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing a PMO team, including PMO managers and support staff.
  • Expertise in core PMO functions, such as programme/project scheduling, resource management, risk and issue management, programme governance, budgeting and cost management, and change control.
  • Experience with the onboarding and offboarding of resources and tracking the status of security clearances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and project scheduling and risk management tools, including Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Experience working in public sector or defence secure environments.
